Male privilege is when a guy won’t stop harassing you and flirting with you even though you said you have a boyfriend and gave clear signs you weren’t interested all because you accidentally smiled in his direction once.  

By saying you have a boyfriend, you are trying to use his sense of male privilege by letting him know he is violating your boyfriend’s male privilege. It may be an effective technique at times, but irritates me as it plays into the idea that the valid reason to not flirt with someone is that they already are bound to a male, but not that you do not wish to flirt with him.

This could also read:

Male privilege is when a guy won’t stop harassing you and flirting with you even though you ignore him.

or

Male privilege is when a guy won’t stop harassing you and flirting with you even though you told him you are not interested.
