You know, I feel really lucky for young trans kids who get onto this site at anywhere around 11-14, because that’s what I think is kind of the vital stage of realization when it comes to being trans,
Like I didn’t have sites like this. I wasn’t sure what i was for a while really, because it was…
I like Tumblr because it isn’t just about any one topic. In the late 90s the sites that were around were rigid or unidirectional. You either had a site with static content or a forum or mail list which had set topics. These tended to be dominated by unhealthy people, not just the transgender focused sites, but any topic forum. Conversation about anything but the topic is punished.
But with Tumblr it is possible to share and learn about multiple areas. I came here to find pictures of Noel Fielding. I found much more.
My gf is a trans woman. Together we have two children, both conceived after she began transition. We are ancient by Tumblr standards, but we aren’t the only ones here for any single category we belong to. It is nice to know we are not the only ones.
I hope I have something worth sharing with all the beautiful people I learn from on Tumblr. I try to reach out to others to give them a perspective they might not have seen.
