There's a power outage in India affecting 600 million people. To give you some perspective, that's just under twice the number of people who live in the United States, or about 40 percent of China's population.

There is nothing not incredible about this.

Even more incredible is the fact that I overheard two middle class white guys talking about the power outage the day it happened and they were empathetic, imagining that it would “suck so much” and joking about what it would be like to have a power outage while stuck on a crowded train without making racist, classist, or other -ist remarks. 

The day it happened, two middle class white guys were aware of an event in another country, that we are not invading, and were not assholes about it.
